One of my favorite recent science fiction books is The Hail Mary Project by Andy Weir. My business partner (Brian Parsonnet) and I listened to the book simultaneously but remotely. We discussed the contents as we went, deciding that the science was pretty good. We only found a small number of discrepancies. We recommend listening to it since hearing Rocky, the alien, is fun.
Anyway, Brian actually downloaded the 3D CAD file for Rocky. He arranged to get the CAD file printed with a 3D printer and then hand-painted it to look like some of the artists’ conceptions. It is shown above. He presented it to me for my birthday.
