Sixty Sixties Achieved

In Journal by Steve Sliwa

I set out in December 2014 with a quest to achieve Sixty Sixties while I was sixty.  So I had to get these done by December 2015.  These activites were chosen to record breadth and depth in a variety of areas.  Heck just keeping track of all of the goals and logging success against them is a challenge in its own right.  Here are collection of some of the toughest and/or most interesting goals across each of the topic areas:

  • Wellness
    • 60 Days of at Least 25 Push Ups
    • 60,000 Steps Recorded on the Pedometer for One Day
    • Beach personal record on 27.3 mile Eagle Creek Hike by at least 60 minutes
  • Basketball
    • Play in 60 full-court basketball games and get 60 baskets and 60 assists
    • Make 60 3-point baskets in one practice
  • Spouse, Family, Pets, & Friends
    • 60 Dinner dates with Nancy
    • 60 Touches with Coaches & Mentors
  • Flying
    • 60 Take-offs, Landings, Holds, or Instrument Approaches
    • 60 Minute Soaring Flight
  • Greater Good & Charity
    • 60 Donations
    • 60 Hours spending time visiting or supporting both ERAU and OIT
  • Travel & Nostalgia
    • 60 Hours & 60,000 Steps in a Foreign Country
    • 60 Minutes at Old Schools
  • Enlightenment & Recreation
    • Beat iPad Scrabble 60 Times at the Advanced Level
    • Eat a Chocolate Éclair within 60 Seconds (some have to be just plain fun … unfortunately, no training was needed for this one)
  • Projects
    • 60 Hours Learning New Software Tools and Languages (Geeking Out)
    • Insure Seeq has at least 60 users of it beta software.

It was challenging and kept me quite busy planning, training, recording, and getting organized.
