We had a nice visit to Chicago the weekend before Thanksgiving and Andie’s 16th birthday.
The Chicago Museum of Science and Industry was hosting an exhibit called the Science of Pixar. Andie is contemplating pursuing a career in animation so we thought it might be good for her to learn more about it. In fact, the exhibit included cameo videos of Pixar employees describing their career decisions and what they do at Pixar.
We managed to get a tour of the SAIC (School of the Art Institute of Chicago) and learned more about their degree programs and living in Chicago. We also attended a comedy improv show at the Comedy Sportz Club, visited the Navy Pier, and had dinner at the Signature Room (near the top of the Hancock Center). Interestingly, the day after we visited an elevator cable broke and the car speeded from the 95th floor to the 11th floor before the emergency brakes saved the day.
