For the last several years, I’ve been doing a twice a week work-out with Fountain Hills Intensive Training.  I read about the concept of super-slow weight training, which uses heavy weights for few reps, moved through a muscle’s entire range of motion, very slowly for each rep.  This type of training theoretically works to exhaustion each muscle group including slow twitch, fast twitch, and super-fast twitch fibers. The workout only takes about 30 minutes, and it’s only done twice a week to give the muscles time to recover. Amazingly when I first read about this, one of the few places in the country that offered this type of training was in Fountain Hills, AZ.  I took that as a sign.  My trainer Rachel works me hard on each of 7 machines, and boy howdy, I definitely feel like I’ve had a workout at the end of it, for sure.
