Steve & Deb Visit

In Friends, Visits, Journal, Activities by Steve Sliwa

I hadn’t talked to Steve and Deb Cembrinski since I graduated from high school.  I ran into them at our 50th reunion.  We’ve stayed in touch since and have gotten together a couple of times.   They decided to escape the cold winter over the holidays and ended up in Scottsdale just 10 miles from us.  So we agreed to rendezvous.

First they came and toured our distinctly Arizona house and we had a casual dinner at Ling and Louie’s Asian Fusion.

They next morning we met at Cirrus Scottsdale and loaded into our new Vision Jet.  We flew up and transited the Grand Canyon.  Although it was windy we were able to through the approved corridors for private aircraft (non-tours) at the lowest altitudes permissible without much turbulence (11,500′ North and 10,500′ South).  After getting back we lunched at True Food Kitchen.  While waiting we toured Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Quarter.  Deb is sure to come back for some shopping.

Two days later we rendezvoused at our house and drove to the trailhead.  We had rented UTVs and got a 2 hour guided tour in the desert.  I like the guys at Desert Dogs for this.

They were enjoying blue skies, 65 to 70 degrees weather, and great hiking.  Home in NY was snow and very cold temperatures.
