Rattlesnake Aversion Training

In Pets by Steve Sliwa

The pups completed their Rattlesnake Aversion training on Feb 8.  Nancy took them (I was in Daytona Beach) and they did well.

Apparently, the process is they are fitted with training collars similar to the ones they have for an invisible fence.  Then they bring out a small snake (mouth taped), snakeskins, sounds of rattles, and a big rattlesnake (mouth also taped).  As the dogs investigate, they get a training signal.

It only took Brandy one signal and she would have nothing to do with them.  Beckett saw the training signal and that was enough for her to know to avoid the snakes.

In fact, when they brought out the big snake, Beckett tried to push Nancy (her momma) away from the snake.  She’s the little protector you know.  Here is their certificate:

Brandy and Beckett pass their Rattlesnake Aversion training course.

Here is follow-up information from the trainers.
